    October Event 2015

The 2015 annual gathering also had a Halloween theme and after the fancy dress & fancy headwear competition & some games, a Vet & Vet niuse from Noahs Crossing Veterinary Clinic provided lots of helpful hints for managing our Newfs during the summer as well as important first aid information. Practical demonstrations of temperature taking & nail clipping was followed by owners practising on their dogs. Handouts were provided and these later printed in the Club newsletter. Lunch was again by bring a plate and folk seemed to enjoy rumaging through the Newfy merchandise.

The 2014 annual gathering had a Halloween theme and after the fancy dress competition there were some games with a Halloween twist for members & their newfs before a session from a Vet and Practice Manager from Noahs Crossing Vet Clinic. The Vet gave a very informative talk on the uses of acupuncture & trigger point therapy then a practical demonstration on a very relaxed Newf. This was followed by a demonstrations of nail trimming & ear cleaning and discussion re diet/supplements in older dogs. After a great lunch (bring a plate), the raffle was drawn. The Club was very appreciative of sponsorship from Advance of 2 large bags of dry food for the raffle and 2 cartons of samples which enabled everyone to go home with some sample packets.
